Tennis: Nigeria To Host Davis Cup Championship
Nigeria’s seat of power, Abuja has been named as the host city of Group III of this year’s Davis Cup Championship by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
It would be recalled that Nigeria returned to Group III alongside Ghana from Group IV championships held in Kigali, Rwanda in 2023 and now the team will be campaigning in Group III with the sole aim of gaining promotion to Group II in 2025.
Nigeria will battle for the promotion slots alongside Benin Republic, Namibia, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, and Zimbabwe from July 15 to 20, 2024.
The matches will be played in a round robin format and the top three teams will be promoted to Group II in 2025, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to Group IV in 2025.
