Snoop Dogg Eyes Celtic Investment And Calls For Ange Postecoglou Return
American rap legend Snoop Dogg is looking to make a power move in European football — this time in Scotland. The 54-year-old superstar, already part of the ownership group at Swansea City alongside Luka Modric, has expressed his desire to acquire a stake in Celtic FC, one of the most historic clubs in world football.
But Snoop isn’t just talking money — he’s talking legacy. In a recent interview, the hip-hop mogul revealed that he wants to help bring back Ange Postecoglou, the beloved coach who led Celtic to domestic glory before leaving for the Premier League.
From Rap Royalty To Football Investor
Snoop Dogg’s connection to Celtic goes way back. His love affair with the Glasgow club began in 2005, when he was gifted a Celtic jersey during a UK tour. Since then, he’s openly declared his affection for the Hoops and their passionate fan base.
With an estimated net worth of £120 million ($157 million), Snoop is no stranger to business ventures. Now, he’s ready to back up his Celtic fandom with serious financial support. Speaking to the Daily Record, Snoop confirmed:
“Investing in Celtic is something I have talked about in the past and if the opportunity was right, I would be down for it. Celtic is a huge club and fans want to see the best players playing in this great stadium. All the owners have got to do is ask.”
“Bring Ange Back” — Snoop’s Message To Celtic
Following Brendan Rodgers’ sudden resignation, Celtic legend Martin O’Neill stepped in temporarily — but Snoop believes the club’s long-term future should include one familiar face: Ange Postecoglou.
“You got to give Martin O’Neill big respect, he is coming back when we need him. I think you got to bring Ange back, the club are gonna do what they are gonna do but the fans would love to see him back.”
Snoop’s admiration for Postecoglou reflects his understanding of the Celtic fan culture — loyal, passionate, and deeply connected to their managers and players.
Inspired By Ryan Reynolds And The Wrexham Revolution
Snoop Dogg’s growing involvement in football ownership is inspired by Hollywood’s own Ryan Reynolds, who revitalized Wrexham AFC alongside Rob McElhenney.
“I love what Ryan has done with Wrexham – it’s just a great story. Investing in a sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time – if the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it.”
And of course, Snoop couldn’t resist adding his signature flair:
“Their mascot is a hound – you couldn’t make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound – that’s gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves.”
The Bigger Picture
Snoop Dogg’s potential investment in Celtic would not only inject funds into the club but also expand the global reach of Scottish football. With celebrities increasingly entering the sports ownership game, from LeBron James to Jay-Z and Ryan Reynolds, Snoop’s move could mark a new era for football branding, fan engagement, and entertainment.
If the deal happens, one thing’s for sure — Parkhead is about to get a lot louder.
