The Only Way Alisson Will Leave Liverpool Amid Shock Transfer Talk As John Arne Riise Sounds ‘Nobody’ Warning To The Reds

Football News

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has once again become the subject of transfer speculation, with reports linking the Brazilian star to a potential return to Serie A. However, former Reds defender John Arne Riise believes there is virtually no chance Liverpool will allow their world-class shot-stopper to leave Anfield anytime soon.

The Brazilian international has been one of Liverpool’s most important players since arriving from Roma in 2018, and Riise insists replacing him would be almost impossible.

Alisson Remains One Of Liverpool’s Most Important Players

When Liverpool signed Alisson for £67 million from Roma, the deal made him the most expensive goalkeeper in football history at the time. Since then, the Brazilian has more than justified that investment.

The 33-year-old has made over 330 appearances for the Reds and played a vital role in one of the club’s most successful modern eras. From winning the Premier League and Champions League to domestic cup success and even scoring a dramatic winner against West Brom in 2021, Alisson has cemented himself as a Liverpool legend.

Despite recent rumours linking him with Juventus, Riise believes Liverpool would be making a huge mistake if they allowed the goalkeeper to leave.

Riise Sends Strong Warning To Liverpool

Speaking about the speculation, Riise admitted he cannot see Alisson departing unless the player himself pushes for an exit.

According to the former Liverpool defender, the biggest problem would be finding someone capable of replacing the Brazilian’s quality and leadership.

Riise explained that Alisson remains one of the best goalkeepers in world football and continues to be a crucial figure for Liverpool’s defence both on and off the pitch.

He also warned that there is “nobody” currently available at the same elite level unless Liverpool are prepared to spend another massive transfer fee.

That statement highlights just how highly Alisson is still regarded within football circles.

Juventus Rumours Continue To Grow

Transfer speculation surrounding Alisson has intensified as Juventus reportedly search for an experienced world-class goalkeeper ahead of next season.

A return to Italy would certainly appeal to many players given Alisson’s successful spell with Roma before moving to England. However, there has been little indication that the Brazilian is unhappy at Liverpool.

The goalkeeper remains under contract at Anfield and still appears fully committed to the club’s ambitions.

Unless a truly extraordinary offer arrives or Alisson personally requests a move, Liverpool are expected to resist any attempts to lure him away.

Robertson Set For Exit As Liverpool Squad Evolves

While Alisson’s future appears stable for now, several major names are heading toward the exit door at Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah is reportedly set to leave when his contract expires, while Ibrahima Konate has also declined a new extension. Scottish left-back Andy Robertson is another player preparing to move on after nearly a decade at Anfield.

Riise admitted he was not surprised by Robertson’s decision, especially with reduced playing time becoming more likely.

The former Norwegian defender also questioned whether Milos Kerkez has done enough to completely replace Robertson in the starting lineup, suggesting Liverpool could still benefit from the veteran defender’s calmness and experience.

Alisson Still Central To Liverpool’s Future

As Liverpool prepare for another major rebuild, keeping experienced leaders like Alisson could prove crucial.

The Brazilian continues to perform at an elite level and remains one of the few goalkeepers capable of winning games on his own. In a squad potentially losing several senior figures, his leadership and consistency may become even more valuable next season.

For now, Liverpool fans can breathe easier knowing that, according to Riise, the only realistic way Alisson leaves Anfield is if he personally decides he wants out.
