Chidera Ejuke Disappointed After Sevilla’s 2-1 Defeat To Espanyol
Chidera Ejuke couldn’t hide his disappointment following Sevilla’s 2-1 defeat to Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium on Monday. Despite dominating the first half, Sevilla were let down by their finishing.
Sevilla Struggle In First Half
Under Matias Almeyda, Sevilla created multiple chances early in the game. Gabriel Suazo, Peque, and Adams Akor all had opportunities but were denied by Espanyol goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.
However, Espanyol gradually gained control in the second half, scoring through Pere Milla and Roberto Fernandez Jaen, before Marcao pulled one back late to make the game nervy.
Ejuke Reacts To The Loss
Ejuke admitted that Sevilla deserved more from the encounter. He said:
“We created many chances and only scored one goal. It’s hard to believe. Even so, we played well. We have to build on this and start thinking about the next match.”
He added:
“We have a very important game coming up, we’re playing at home and we have to do everything we can to win. We need to grow as a team and give it our all to get that victory.”
Looking Ahead
Sevilla will now focus on bouncing back in their next home fixture. Ejuke’s comments underline the team’s determination to improve, learn from missed opportunities, and secure vital wins as the La Liga season progresses.
