Lamine Yamal urges Julian Alvarez to join Barcelona again as Atletico Madrid exit rumours grow
Lamine Yamal has once again publicly backed Barcelona’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez, insisting the Atletico Madrid striker would be the perfect addition to Hansi Flick’s squad.
The teenage sensation believes the Argentina international has all the qualities needed to thrive at Camp Nou and admitted the dressing room would welcome him with open arms if a transfer is completed.
Yamal makes another public appeal
Yamal has never hidden his admiration for Alvarez and has again spoken positively about the possibility of the former Manchester City forward joining Barcelona.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the Spain international praised Alvarez’s quality and suggested the entire squad would be delighted to see him arrive.
“Everyone knows he’s a top player, the kind everyone wants to play for.
“I’ve already said it: we’re open to welcoming him, and if he comes, we’ll all be very happy.
“I think he’s a great fit for Barca’s style. I have no idea what the situation is, but I hope so.”
‘The best club in the world’
Yamal also highlighted why he believes Barcelona represents the ideal destination for Alvarez, describing the Catalan giants as the biggest club in world football.
The 18-year-old added:
“He is coming to the best club in the world, the best fans in the world, and the best city in the world, in my opinion.
“So, if I were him, I’d do it. If he wants to come, we are waiting for him, go ahead.”
Barcelona continue to view Alvarez as one of their priority targets thanks to his versatility, pressing ability and proven goalscoring record at both club and international level.
Atletico tensions continue to grow
While Yamal continues to encourage the move, reports suggest the situation at Atletico Madrid has become increasingly complicated.
Head coach Diego Simeone is reportedly growing frustrated with the continued speculation surrounding Alvarez’s future after several public hints linking the striker with Barcelona.
The Argentine manager is believed to have lost patience with the ongoing transfer saga, with club officials now viewing a potential sale as the best solution if the player pushes for an exit.
Barcelona remain determined
Despite interest in strengthening other attacking positions, Barcelona remain keen to secure Alvarez as their long-term solution at centre-forward.
With Yamal continuing to publicly campaign for the move and the striker’s future at Atletico appearing increasingly uncertain, the transfer saga looks set to remain one of the biggest stories of the summer window.
