Asisat Oshoala Playfully Trolls Real Madrid After Barcelona Extend La Liga Lead
Asisat Oshoala could not resist taking a playful jab at Real Madrid CF after FC Barcelona reclaimed control of the La Liga title race.
Barcelona secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Athletic Club, restoring their four-point advantage at the top of the table with only 11 matches remaining this season.
Barcelona Respond To Real Madrid Pressure
The title race had tightened briefly after Real Madrid defeated RC Celta de Vigo 2-1 on Friday, temporarily reducing Barcelona’s lead to just one point.
However, Barcelona quickly responded the following day thanks to a decisive moment involving two of their brightest stars.
Lamine Yamal scored the only goal of the match after receiving a brilliant pass from Pedri, securing all three points for the Catalan giants.
The victory pushed Barcelona four points clear at the top of La Liga, keeping them firmly in control of the title race.

Oshoala’s Social Media Joke
After the win, Oshoala—who previously enjoyed huge success with FC Barcelona Femení—took to social media platform X to celebrate.
The Nigerian star shared a humorous meme showing a figure wearing the Barcelona badge embracing the La Liga trophy, while a disappointed character wearing a Real Madrid logo watched from the background.
The playful post quickly caught the attention of fans, highlighting Oshoala’s enduring loyalty to her former club.
Barcelona Legacy Still Strong
During her time at Barcelona, Oshoala established herself as one of the most successful African footballers in history.
She helped the club win multiple domestic titles and the UEFA Women’s Champions League before departing in 2024.
The Nigerian striker also holds a record six CAF Women’s Player of the Year titles, cementing her place among Africa’s greatest players.
Although she now plays elsewhere, moments like this show her connection with Barcelona remains strong as the Catalan giants chase another La Liga crown.
