Champions Cup Game: Emmanuel Adebayor Excited To Face Ronaldinho-Led Barça Legends In Abuja
With just 15 days to go before the much-anticipated Champions Cup Game between Barça Legends and African Legends, former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is relishing the chance to take part in a historic encounter on October 25 in Abuja.
The Togolese icon, who was named African Footballer of the Year in 2008, is set to return to his homeland region to feature in a game that promises to deliver not just entertainment, but also a message of unity and empowerment.
Adebayor: A true African football icon
Emmanuel Adebayor remains one of Africa’s most decorated footballers. He famously represented Togo at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, marking the country’s first and only appearance at the global showpiece — a historic achievement that sealed his legendary status.
During his illustrious career, Adebayor played for some of Europe’s elite clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Real Madrid, and Monaco, while also enjoying spells in Turkey, Paraguay, and his native Togo.
Champions Cup Game set to thrill in Abuja
The Champions Cup Game, organised by Attom Foundation with support from ZMB Homes and WGI, will see Ronaldinho’s Barça Legends face off against African Legends at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on October 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
This landmark match will not only be a spectacle of skill and nostalgia but also serve as a platform to support the Girl Child Initiative through sport. Fans will also get the rare chance to meet and greet footballing icons from Barcelona and across Africa.
African fans await football nostalgia
As the countdown continues, excitement is building across Africa. With Adebayor, Ronaldinho, and other legends set to grace the pitch, the Champions Cup promises to be a celebration of football, culture, and togetherness.
For many, it will be more than a game—it will be a night of memories, joy, and football magic.
