Flick Hails Barca Starlets After Kobe Win
He’s a happy man
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick singled out Jofre Torrents and Dro Fernandez for praise after Sunday’s 3-1 win over Vissel Kobe in pre-season.
Flick handed debuts to his three summer signings and several youngsters and was rewarded with some bright performances.
Teenager Dro scored on his debut, as did new signing Roony Bardghji, leaving Flick a happy man at the full-time whistle.
“I really liked the debuts of Jofre Torrents and Dro, and the rest of them too. I see them training and they have quality,” he told reporters.
“Dro scored a goal and the same for Jofre, Roony… everyone… they’ve done a good job.
“I’m happy to have them. We have to take care of them, help them improve. That’s our job and we will do it.”
Flick was also happy with the way his team played despite having little time to prepare for the match after their flight out was delayed due to issues over whether the friendly would actually go ahead.
“It was a good game, I’m happy. I’m very happy with how it went because in the last few days we haven’t known if we’d travel, or when… I’m grateful for the welcome we received,” he added.
I liked the intensity of the opponent; it suits us well. We’re happy to have come. I really enjoyed the first 30 minutes, and for us it was a very good game.”
Next up it’s time to head to South Korea and a game against FC Seoul on Thursday.
