Osimhen Exit To Fund Napoli’s Ex-Benfica Target

Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor James Osimhen, is close to sealing a move to Turkish Super Lig Champions, Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old spent the last year in Istanbul with Okan Buruk’s side, winning the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish League Cup.

Osimhen has now ignored the offers from Saudi Pro League side, Al-Hilal, and has agreed on personal terms with Galatasaray.

Napoli have been looking for a strike partner for Romelu Lukaku, and have been eyeing Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez, although Arne Slot’s side initially posed the swap deal option to the Serie A side.

According to Caught Offside, Napoli are preparing to step up their pursuit of Darwin Núñez, as the Uruguayan is the club’s primary target.

After selling Osimhen, Napoli are set for new round of talks for Darwin Nunez as Uruguayan striker remains the main, dream target.

As revealed two weeks ago, Darwin wants Napoli and he’s open to the move.

With Osimhen set for Turkey, Napoli have now shifted focus towards landing the former Benfica man as their marquee attacking signing this summer.

Núñez is open to making the move to Naples and has expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Serie A giants.

The 26-year-old forward has given a positive response to Napoli, making it clear to his representatives and Liverpool that he views the Italian club as his preferred destination at this stage of his career.

Liverpool are looking for a new attacker themselves, and Napoli’s interest in Núñez comes as a major boost to them after they’ve brought in Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz.

The next round of talks between Napoli and Liverpool is set to take place in the coming days.

Liverpool are now currently assessing their forward options, with Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Hugo Ekitike high on the radar of the Anfield officials.
However, the deal might seem too expensive as the Eagles are demanding over €85m for the former PSG forward.

On the other hand, their winger, Luis Diaz, looks set for a move to Bayern Munich, meaning the Reds will still go into the transfer market, considering they also lost Diogo Jota to death’s cruel and cold hands.
