Barcelona Target Chelsea Winger Pedro Neto Ahead of 2026 Summer Transfer Window

FC Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Pedro Neto as they plan to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window.

The Chelsea F.C. winger has impressed since joining the Premier League side in 2024 and is now attracting attention from the Spanish giants.

Barcelona Looking for Attacking Depth

Barcelona’s primary transfer priorities remain signing a top centre-back and a central striker, but club officials are also evaluating options to strengthen their wide attacking positions.

Sporting director Deco and manager Hansi Flick are reportedly looking for players who can provide depth behind current wingers:

  • Lamine Yamal

  • Raphinha

Neto’s versatility and ability to play on either wing have made him an attractive option.

Neto Impressing at Chelsea

The Portuguese international joined Chelsea from Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. in August 2024 for around £54 million.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, he has become a key player for the Blues.

During the 2025/2026 season, Neto has recorded:

  • 10 goals

  • 6 assists

  • 42 appearances across all competitions

He also played a role in helping Chelsea win the:

  • UEFA Europa Conference League (2024/25)

  • FIFA Club World Cup

The Jorge Mendes Connection

Barcelona’s pursuit of Neto could be helped by his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Mendes maintains a close professional relationship with both Deco and Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

These connections could help structure a deal if negotiations with Chelsea begin.

Financial Challenge for Barcelona

Despite their interest, Barcelona’s well-known financial constraints could make the transfer complicated.

Chelsea would likely demand a significant fee for Neto, especially given his current form and importance to the squad.

For Barcelona, any potential deal would depend on creative financial planning and player sales to meet the Premier League club’s valuation.

A Transfer to Watch

As the summer transfer window approaches, Neto’s future could become one of the more intriguing stories in European football.

If Barcelona decide to push ahead with the move, it could test Chelsea’s willingness to part with one of their most productive attackers. ⚽
