Why I dropped Saka for Arsenal vs Luton game — Arteta
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has explained why Bukayo Saka is not part of his matchday squad to face Luton Town on Wednesday night.
Saka, who limped off during the 0-0 draw with Manchester City last Sunday, is not even on the substitutes’ bench.
Arteta, speaking to TNT Sports, said: “He had to come off against Manchester City three days ago feeling something.
“He hasn’t been able to do everything that we needed to give him the chance to start the game. So we have decided not to play him.”
Kai Havertz will be supported by Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson in attack.
The Gunners are looking to go top of the Premier League table for at least 24 hours with a win.
