Hundreds Of Kids Welcome NBBF President Musa Kida Back To Port-Harcourt
It was a joyous and emotional moment as hundreds of happy and enthusiastic kids Saturday, lined up the streets leading to the venue of the NBBF Premier Basketball League final 4, to welcome the President of Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida.
The kids carrying different placards and banners sang and danced in appreciation and praised Kida, for his unmatched and selfless contributions to their young lives and of course, development of basketball in Rivers State.
Kida, who walked the stretch of the streets with the young basketball lovers, expressed his pleasant surprise by the unexpected welcome and reception by the kids, in an emotion laden tone, said, “I’m truly and indeed, short for words, right now. This is a very emotional moment for me. I’m surprised and at the same time, very happy and grateful for this warm reception back to my second home, Port-Harcourt.
“Thank you, my children,” Kida said. “I’m happy and promise to do more in the coming years, for your growth and development,” Kida added.
The Proprietor of DFA Basketball Academy, Coach Fubara Onyanabo thanked Musa Kida, who was recently honoured with the traditional title, ‘Elubi Egi Elu’ by the Egi Kingdom in Rivers State, for his age-long and invaluable supports and contributions to the development of the young and impressionable lads through the AMk Foundation.
“On behalf of hundreds of these kids whose lives you have impacted and have gone ahead to make a career in the sports, we say a big thank you sir. And we hopefully look forward to more assistance from you and the AMK Foundation,” Onyanabo said.
