What Happened At Victor Osimhen Galatasaray Unveiling, Details Emerge
Chelsea could be able to reignite their interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer despite his loan switch to Galatasaray on Monday.
The Nigerian centre-forward was high up the Blues’ list of priorities in the transfer window as they looked to secure competition for Nicolas Jackson. Eventually, Osimhen’s future fell to deadline day with Al Ahli and Chelsea vying for his signature.
While the Saudi Pro League club was offering a huge sum of money, a move to the Middle East did not appeal to Osimhen at this career stage. Chelsea meanwhile could not provide the financial package that the striker was craving having launched a late move to sign him and eventually, the forward ended up staying put at Napoli.
Unfortunately for Osimhen, staying at the Serie A club until January was not a realistic option either. The relationship between the player and the club appears to have been damaged beyond repair with Napoli desperate to get him out for everyone’s best interests.
This is how a loan move to Galatasaray has come about. The Turkish transfer window is still open until September 13 meaning European clubs can still sell players to their league.
The Turkish champions have agreed a deal to bring Osimhen in on loan for the remainder of the season. However, a rare clause could allow Chelsea to sign the striker this winter.
