Mikel Arteta pushing Arsenal to sign Dominic Solanke
According to Fichajes, Arsenal are keen on having Dominic Solanke in their ranks. The 26-year-old Bournemouth striker has been in sensational form of late and there is a lot of interest in his services from England as well as abroad.
Solanke was a part of the Chelsea youth ranks back in the day. He came up the ranks at the club but could not make it to their first team. He parted ways in the summer of 2017 to join Liverpool. But, his stay at the Merseyside club also did not go according to plan.
He ended up joining Bournemouth in the winter of 2019 and has gone from strength to strength since. The 26-year-old has established himself as the mainstay of the Cherries first team and of late, he has been scoring goals for fun.
In the ongoing season, he has found the back of the net on 13 occasions, with 12 goals coming in the Premier League. His impressive performances have also earned him his debut for the England senior team, and it has enhanced his reputation as a striker.
Multiple top clubs are now keen on his signatures, and Tottenham Hotspur are one of them. Spurs have not signed a direct replacement for Harry Kane yet, and they need an out-and-out striker. They feel Solanke could be a great fit and willing to make a move.
While Spurs are considering making a move, Mikel Arteta is pushing Arsenal to ensure he gets his game. The Gunners have struggled to score enough goals of late despite having Gabriel Jesus in their ranks alongside a few other forwards.
This lack of goals has become a concern for the Spanish manager, and he wants to address it by signing Solanke. The 26-year-old has proven himself in the English top flight, and he is exactly the kind of striker that Arsenal are looking for.
Joining Arsenal could be a great opportunity for the England international. He will be able to compete for major titles and could regularly feature in the Champions League. And, his numbers in front of the goal could also increase as he will have world-class players around him. While clubs will look to sign him in the ongoing window, the report suggests a move in the summer is the most likely outcome.
