May Day 2026: Lagos SWAN Commends Nigerian Workers
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos State Chapter, has praised the resilience and determination of Nigerian workers as they join the rest of the world to commemorate International Workers’ Day.
In a statement, the Chairman of SWAN Lagos Chapter, Mrs Oladunni Olatutu, applauded the unwavering commitment and doggedness of Nigerian workers despite the prevailing economic challenges, further impacted by the Middle East crisis.
She urged the government to prioritize the welfare of workers by implementing policies that will ease the burden of rising costs of food, petrol, gas, and transportation.
Speaking on this year’s theme, “Ensuring a Healthy Psychosocial Working Environment,” Mrs Oladunni also called on both government and private sector organizations to foster a more conducive work environment that supports the mental and overall well-being of workers, enabling them to perform at their best.
