Besiktas Set €15m Price Tag As Man United Circle Wilfred Ndidi
Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas have reportedly adopted an open stance amid growing interest from Manchester United in Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi.
The Black Eagles are said to be willing to part ways with the Nigerian midfielder for a fee in the region of €15 million, despite only signing him last summer and handing him a leadership role at the club.
Besiktas Open Door For Ndidi Exit
Ndidi, 29, joined Besiktas after the Istanbul club activated a relegation clause in his contract, securing his services for a reported €9.5 million. His impact was immediate, earning him the vice-captaincy and a key role in Sergen Yalçın’s midfield setup.
However, according to talkSPORT journalist Ben Jacobs, Besiktas are prepared to negotiate a sale due to adequate depth in the defensive midfield position.
“The massive northern club do have several options in Ndidi’s role,” Jacobs reported. “Ndidi is said to be well compensated at his new home, and overly generous wages may be a deterrent in United’s recruitment drive, while alternative option Ruben Neves appears to be a no-go.”
Besiktas are reportedly open to a loan deal for the remainder of the season, provided it includes an obligation to buy between €12 million and €15 million.
Manchester United’s Renewed Interest
Manchester United’s pursuit of Ndidi is not new. The Red Devils have long admired the midfielder’s ball-winning ability, tactical discipline, and leadership — qualities they are keen to reinforce in midfield.
As previously reported by Pulse Sports, United are exploring multiple midfield options, including Wilfred Ndidi and AC Milan’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, as they look to strengthen their squad during the winter transfer window.
With Michael Carrick pushing for midfield reinforcements to improve consistency and balance, Ndidi’s Premier League experience and recent AFCON 2025 leadership credentials make him an attractive option.
AFCON Pedigree And Leadership Value
Ndidi captained Nigeria during AFCON 2025, further cementing his reputation as a leader at the highest level. His ability to shield the defense, break up play, and maintain positional discipline has continued to draw interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
Should Manchester United decide to move forward, Besiktas’ willingness to negotiate could make this one of the most intriguing midfield stories of the transfer window.
