Super Eagles Open Camp in Polokwane Ahead of Crucial World Cup Qualifier Against Lesotho
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially opened camp in Polokwane, South Africa, as preparations intensify for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday nine clash against the Crocodiles of Lesotho.
Head coach Eric Chelle, alongside his technical crew and backroom staff, arrived in Polokwane on Monday and are lodged at the prestigious Ranch Hotel.
Players Begin to Arrive
According to the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, invited players are expected to begin arriving camp today, with some already in Johannesburg preparing to connect a flight to Polokwane.
First Training Session Scheduled
The team will hold their first official training session on Tuesday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, the venue for Friday’s all-important showdown.
Key Fixtures Ahead
Nigeria will face Lesotho on Friday at 5 pm Nigeria time, with the Crocodiles hoping to pull an upset on home soil.
Afterward, the Super Eagles will return to Uyo to host the Squirrels of Benin Republic in their final qualifier next Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
With the race for World Cup qualification heating up, all eyes will be on the Super Eagles as they look to finish strong and secure their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
