Transfer Saga Continues: Eze To Start For Palace In Europe
Eberechi Eze will start for Crystal Palace in their Conference League play-off clash on Thursday, despite ongoing transfer talks with Tottenham.
The Palace star was on show during Palace’s public training session earlier on Wednesday, and manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed Eze will start against Fredrikstad tomorrow night.
Spurs are in advanced talks to sign Eze but a deal is yet to be agreed with Palace. Eze is thought to be keen on a move to Spurs but he remains committed to Palace until a deal is reached.
Glasner has also confirmed Marc Guehi will start, with his future also uncertain amid interest from Liverpool.
The Eagles boss told reporters: “The player gives 100 per cent because he is under contract. We don’t have to say thank you every day, he is getting a few pounds every week.
“Many of you were surprised he and Marc started against Chelsea, most of you will be surprised that they will start again tomorrow, but they are committed to the team.
“They will play a crucial part as long as they are here they are committed to the team. If they leave, they want to leave as the guys who gave 100 per cent to Crystal Palace.”
Spurs hope to wrap up a deal before the transfer window closes on September 1 as they target three new signings.
Playing in Europe for Palace would not make Eze ineligible for the Champions League.
