Flying Eagles Beat Niger On Penalties To Reach WAFU-B U20 Final
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are through to the final of the WAFU-B U20 Boys Championship after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Niger, which they won 4-3 on penalties at full-time.
The semi-final clash, played under intense pressure, saw both sides unable to find the back of the net during regulation time.
However, Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s team held their nerves during the shootout to claim victory and seal their spot in the tournament’s final.
The Flying Eagles will now await the winner of the second semi-final fixture between rivals Ghana and defending champions Côte d’Ivoire, with the final set to determine the regional kings of West African U20 football.
Nigeria will be aiming to lift the trophy and continue their dominance in youth football across the sub region.
The competition is part of the prepararion for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile later in the year according to the coach, Zubair Aliyu.
