Super Eagles’ Future Star Commits To Everton
Highly rated Super Eagles prospect Coby Ebere has penned a new two-year contract with Everton to extend his stay at the Merseyside club until the summer of 2027, according to Soccernet.ng.
The talented winger, who joined Everton from Chelsea in 2022, has endured a difficult spell with injuries but is now looking forward to a fresh start after regaining fitness in the second half of last season.
Ebere expressed his delight after signing the new deal, calling it a vote of confidence from the club despite the challenging year and a half he has faced.
“I’m buzzing to extend my deal, based on the fact I’ve had a hard 18 months,” the 19-year-old told Evertonfc.com.
“It shows the Club has got faith in me – and I know I can repay it.”
The winger returned to action with Everton’s Under-21 side in the latter part of the 2024/25 campaign and credits the coach for his support and guidance.
“I really enjoyed being back on the pitch with the guys and Taity has been really good with me, working in detail and getting me back to where I need to be,” he said.
“We’ve got a great group of players in the Under-21s and hopefully we can show that.”
Ebere, eligible to represent Nigeria through descent, has yet to earn a call-up to any of the national youth teams but remains one of the Super Eagles’ promising prospects abroad. With the new deal in place, his next goal is to edge closer to the senior team at Goodison Park.
“The aim now is to get as many games as possible, and get as close to the first team as I can,” he added.
Ebere’s progress will be closely followed by Nigerian football fans, hopeful of seeing him in green and white in the near future.
