Man Utd Faces £123m Osimhen Decision After Silent Message
Latest Manchester United transfer news with striker target Victor Osimhen sending a subtle but clear message
Victor Osimhen has sent a clear message after he scored in what is likely to be his last Galatasaray appearance during their final day victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.
That was the 26-year-old’s 37th goal of the season in all competitions and with Osimhen key in winning the Turkish league and cup, it is hardly surprising that several suitors are interested in acquiring his signature. With Napoli wanting a permanent exit, Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester United have all been linked.
The former have since agreed to pay Liam Delap’s £30million relegation clause to sign him from Ipswich Town but signing another striker has not been ruled out. Juventus meanwhile, have been linked to signing Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP.
Arsenal turning the focus onto Benjamin Sesko could result in the Italian giants having a free run at the Swede. United losing out on Delap has seemingly left them with a choice between Gyokeres and Osimhen even though the arrival of Matheus Cunha has been confirmed.
His £62.5million release clause will be paid using instalments which could allow for other funds to be used elsewhere. Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho all sealing exits would also help Ruben Amorim’s budget.
Gyokeres, who inspired Sporting to a domestic double, has a similar asking price to Cunha while Osimhen could cost just a little bit more as Napoli want his £63.2million (75m) release clause met.
Having also won two trophies in the last few weeks, he has been extremely active on social media and the striker has posted another message that shows what he could bring to Old Trafford.
Posing alongside both trophies, in full Galatasaray attire, Osimhen posted a collage of photos with the silverware on display sending the message as no caption was included.
As he has also proven his worth at crucial moments by guiding Napoli to a surprise Scudetto triumph back in the 2022/23 season, it has become quite clear that Osimhen is the man for big occasions and United are in need of players at that level.
However, Gyokeres has done similar and therefore a tough call awaits Amorim and Co. on the experienced striker to bring in.
