Arsenal ready to make Vinicius Junior highest-paid player in club history with blockbuster Real Madrid transfer plan

Arsenal ready to make Vinicius Junior highest-paid player in club history with blockbuster Real Madrid transfer plan

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to shatter their wage structure in a sensational bid to sign Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior, with the Premier League champions willing to make the Brazilian the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

The ambitious move underlines Arsenal’s determination to build on last season’s Premier League triumph and establish themselves as Europe’s dominant force.

Arsenal prepared to break wage record

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are ready to offer Vinicius a record-breaking contract that would eclipse every deal previously handed out at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazilian currently earns around £400,000 per week at Real Madrid, but the Gunners are reportedly willing to better those terms in an effort to convince him to move to north London.

Arsenal have already raised their salary ceiling after rewarding key players such as Bukayo Saka with contracts worth approximately £365,000 per week, but signing Vinicius would represent an entirely new financial commitment.

The club views the 26-year-old as a transformational signing capable of taking Mikel Arteta’s side to another level.

Real Madrid demand huge transfer fee

Although Arsenal appear willing to meet Vinicius’ salary expectations, negotiating with Real Madrid could prove significantly more difficult.

Club president Florentino Perez is reportedly demanding a package worth €160 million, including add-ons and performance-related bonuses, before considering the sale of one of Madrid’s biggest stars.

Perez has traditionally resisted selling elite players during their prime years, but Vinicius’ contract situation has introduced fresh uncertainty.

The Brazilian is entering the final year of his current deal, while reports in Spain suggest negotiations over an extension have stalled as he seeks wages comparable to teammate Kylian Mbappe.

Mourinho determined to keep his star

Complicating matters further is the return of Jose Mourinho to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Portuguese manager is said to be determined to retain the core of his squad as he targets further domestic and European success, making it clear that Vinicius remains central to his long-term plans.

Despite reported tensions between the pair in the past, Mourinho is understood to view the Brazilian as one of the most important figures in his attacking setup.

Diomande move could signal contingency plan

While Real Madrid publicly insist they want to keep Vinicius, their transfer activity has fuelled speculation about a possible departure.

The Spanish giants are reportedly closing in on a deal worth well over €100 million for RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande, a move many believe would provide a ready-made replacement should negotiations with Vinicius ultimately collapse.

Although Madrid continue to project confidence over keeping the Brazilian, Arsenal are closely monitoring developments and remain ready to strike if the opportunity arises.

Arsenal waiting for breakthrough

For now, any move depends largely on Vinicius’ contract talks with Real Madrid.

Should negotiations remain deadlocked, Arsenal appear willing to make an unprecedented financial commitment to lure one of world football’s brightest stars to the Premier League.

Making Vinicius the highest-paid player in club history would represent one of the boldest transfer statements Arsenal have ever made—and potentially one of the biggest deals of the 2026 summer window.
