Man Utd Push for Chido Obi Loan Move to Willem II Before Eredivisie Deadline

Man Utd Not Done Yet! Red Devils Push for Chido Obi Loan Move to Willem II

Manchester United could have one final piece of transfer business to complete this summer, with teenage striker Chido Obi reportedly attracting serious interest from Dutch club Willem II.

While United’s incoming business is finished, the Red Devils could still sanction an important departure before the Eredivisie transfer window closes.

Willem II are pushing to take the 18-year-old forward on loan, potentially giving one of United’s brightest young attackers the opportunity to develop in senior football.

Willem II make late move for Obi

According to reports, Willem II have submitted a formal proposal for Obi and are hoping to complete the deal before the Dutch transfer deadline.

The Eredivisie window remains open until 23:59 CEST on Wednesday, giving the Tilburg club a narrow opportunity to get the deal over the line.

For Manchester United, the move would be less about getting rid of a player and more about giving a highly rated youngster the minutes he needs.

Could Obi follow the Isak pathway?

There is an intriguing reason Willem II could be an attractive destination.

The Dutch club previously helped Alexander Isak develop during a loan spell, with the Swedish striker using his time in the Eredivisie to gain valuable senior experience.

Willem II reportedly believe Obi has the potential to make a similar impact.

That comparison will certainly appeal to a young striker looking for a pathway into regular first-team football.

Obi has already shown his potential

Obi has already made eight senior appearances for Manchester United, but the club’s decision to return him to the youth setup highlighted the need for a more controlled development path.

And he certainly responded.

The Denmark youth international scored 20 goals in 37 appearances across United’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams last season.

Now, the next challenge is to prove he can replicate that impact against experienced senior defenders.

United could benefit too

A loan move to Willem II could be a win-win situation.

Obi would get regular competitive football, while United would have the opportunity to monitor his progress away from the intense pressure of Old Trafford.

Feyenoord had also shown interest in the striker earlier in the summer, but Willem II have now emerged as the leading contenders.

Could another Eredivisie loan turn Manchester United’s teenage striker into their next breakout star?

With the transfer window still open in the Netherlands, Obi’s next move could be decided very soon.
