Ademola Lookman Eyes Galatasaray Move Amid Atalanta Turmoil
Nigerian international Ademola Lookman could be on his way out of Atalanta, with reports suggesting that the forward is eager to join Turkish champions Galatasaray.
According to Turkish journalist Ferhat Kızıltaş, Lookman has been following Galatasaray closely and is said to be impressed by the admiration shown to fellow Nigerian star Victor Osimhen by the club’s fans.
“If Galatasaray makes an official offer to Lookman during the mid-season break, there is a high probability that they will complete this transfer,” Kızıltaş revealed, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
“Lookman follows Galatasaray’s matches. He is also impressed by the love shown to Osimhen. He wants to play here.”
Turbulent Times in Italy
The 28-year-old forward’s situation at Atalanta has been rocky in recent months. Despite his heroics in last season’s Europa League final, where he scored a historic hat-trick to secure the title, Lookman’s relationship with the club has soured.
He has reportedly clashed with two now-dismissed coaches, handed in a transfer request, and even refused to train at one point before returning to the squad.
Possible January Exit
A January transfer now looks increasingly likely, with Galatasaray seen as a strong contender for his signature. The Turkish club is reportedly preparing to make a formal offer during the winter window.
Lookman is currently focused on international duty with the Super Eagles, who are preparing for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off against Gabon on Thursday.
