Chelsea Reignite Interest In Victor Osimhen As Galatasaray Place €150 Million Price Tag On Nigerian Star
Chelsea are once again eyeing Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, as reports from Türkiye Today suggest that the Premier League giants have rekindled their interest in the prolific Galatasaray striker.
The Blues had initially pursued Osimhen during the 2024 summer transfer window while he was still at Napoli. However, talks stalled when Chelsea reportedly offered a wage package of €4 million guaranteed plus €4 million in add-ons, which Osimhen turned down.
Following that, Osimhen made a stunning move to Galatasaray — first on loan and later permanently — in what became a Turkish record deal worth €75 million, securing a €21 million annual salary on a four-year contract.
Galatasaray’s €150 Million Price Tag
Despite his recent permanent signing, Galatasaray are reportedly open to negotiations — but only at a staggering €150 million valuation. Sources close to the club say this figure is not an official release clause, but rather a strong deterrent to keep suitors away.
Osimhen’s Blistering Form
Osimhen’s current form has been nothing short of world-class. His hat-trick against Benin Republic helped Nigeria qualify for the World Cup play-offs, and his consistent scoring streak in Europe has guided Galatasaray closer to the Champions League knockout stages.
Naturally, this has reignited interest from several top clubs, including Barcelona — but Chelsea seem to be leading the pack.
Why Chelsea Want Osimhen
Chelsea’s renewed pursuit stems from a lack of consistent attacking output this season. Liam Delap, though promising, has struggled with injury setbacks, while João Pedro’s form has been inconsistent. Manager Enzo Maresca reportedly sees Osimhen as the ideal forward to restore Chelsea’s attacking edge.
However, Galatasaray’s massive valuation and Osimhen’s high wage demands could make a potential transfer complex — unless Chelsea are prepared to make a record-breaking offer.
For now, the football world watches closely as one of Africa’s finest strikers becomes the subject of yet another high-profile transfer saga.
