Mario Balotelli Fires Shots At Patrick Vieira After Genoa Sacking

Football never stays quiet for long — especially when Mario Balotelli is involved.

Following Patrick Vieira’s dismissal as Genoa manager, the Italian striker reignited their old feud with a scathing social media attack that left fans and pundits buzzing.

Vieira Out, Genoa Struggling

Genoa officially parted ways with Vieira on Saturday after a disastrous start to their Serie A season. The club currently sits bottom of the table and remains without a single win, prompting the board to make a swift managerial change.

The decision came just two and a half years after Vieira’s previous sacking from Crystal Palace, marking another disappointing end to the Frenchman’s managerial stint.

Balotelli’s Explosive Reaction

Balotelli wasted no time reacting to the news. Taking to Instagram, the fiery striker tagged Vieira directly, saying:

“Now Genoa can finally focus on people who truly love the atmosphere, the fans, and the crest. The great work experienced firsthand by Gilardino and Zangrillo hasn’t been wasted—it was just exploited selfishly and badly by those who came after.”

He didn’t stop there. In another post, he accused Vieira of undermining the club’s foundation, writing:

“They exploited the immense work of Gilardino and Zangrillo, their commitment and dedication to these colours, without truly understanding their value. Now let’s focus on GENOA and the GENOANS! Go Genoa! GO BOYS! I believed in you, and I still do!”

And if that wasn’t enough, Balotelli signed off with a classic knockout punch on his Instagram story:

“Karma is a b*tch. God sees and provides.”

A Feud Rekindled

Balotelli and Vieira’s frosty relationship is nothing new. The two first clashed during their time at Nice, where Vieira managed the striker from 2018 to 2020. Reports suggested that their relationship quickly broke down due to disagreements over Balotelli’s attitude and discipline.

When both men found themselves at Genoa last season, tensions only worsened. Balotelli struggled for minutes under Vieira, and the fallout became public knowledge.

Now, with Vieira out of the job, Balotelli’s thinly veiled celebration feels more like revenge than relief.

What’s Next For Both?

Genoa will be hoping to stabilize their season under new leadership, while Vieira faces yet another career crossroad. As for Balotelli — he’s once again at the center of football drama, proving that even when he’s not scoring goals, he knows how to make headlines.
