Manchester United Reach Preliminary Agreement For Colombian Teenage Star Cristian Orozco

Manchester United’s global talent hunt shows no signs of slowing down as the club has reached a preliminary agreement to sign 17-year-old midfielder Cristian Orozco, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The highly-rated Colombian, who currently plays for Fortaleza CEIF, will remain with the club until he turns 18 next year. His move to Old Trafford is expected to be finalized in July 2026.

A Leader For Colombia’s U17s

Orozco has already built a reputation as a natural leader. The defensive midfielder captained Colombia’s Under-17 side during the U17 South American Championship, helping his nation reach the final earlier this year. Scouts believe he has the potential to break into senior first-team football in the near future.

The agreement for Orozco comes less than 24 hours after United accelerated talks to sign another 17-year-old—Mouhamed Dabo, the captain of Senegal’s U17 side.

Dabo, who plays for Be Sport Academy (an institution with previous ties to Barcelona), recently completed a trial at Carrington and impressed United’s coaching staff. According to Africa Foot, a deal is now close.
