Ikorodu City, Rivers United Offer Free Entry For Home Openers
Ikorodu City FC and Rivers United FC have announced that their first home matches of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will be open to fans free of charge.
Ikorodu City President, Sanmi Doherty, in a heartfelt message to supporters, expressed gratitude for the massive backing the club received during their debut top-flight campaign.
He urged fans to replicate the same energy as the club begins its second NPFL season at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
“This club belongs to us all and we would rather do this journey with you, our fans, at all ends of the Arena,” Doherty said.
“We want your support just as you’ve done in previous years. Together, we will achieve stability in this second season in the top flight.”
The “Oga Boys” are set to play their first home game of the season on Sunday as they look to build on their impressive debut campaign.
Meanwhile, in Port Harcourt, Rivers United have also thrown open the gates of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium for their Matchday 2 clash against Kwara United.
The Pride of Rivers confirmed that the game, scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 4:00pm, will be free for all fans.
The club urged supporters to turn out in large numbers to cheer the team as they seek a strong start to the campaign under new manager Finidi George.
With both clubs making fan-friendly moves, NPFL followers in Lagos and Port Harcourt are set for a thrilling weekend of top-flight football action.
