Galatasaray Academy Teams Get First Shirt-Back Sponsor
Turkey’s Galatasaray has signed a sponsorship deal with the Pekintaş Group that will focus on supporting the Turkish giant’s academy, and will put the Pekintaş Group logo on the back of the kits of Galatasaray’s youth teams for the 2025/26 season.
This is the first time that Galatasaray’s Academy teams will have a sponsor on the back of their shirts.
“Sponsoring and supporting football infrastructure is extremely important, said Galatasaray President Dursun Aydın Özbek.
“The football community, which has reached a significant economic structure, is in dire need of this support. Of course, our vision at Galatasaray, the mission entrusted to us by Ali Sami Yen, is to instill a love of football in young people, to educate them in this direction, and to introduce them to Turkish sports and Turkish football,” he continued.
“This is our unwavering mission. In doing so, Galatasaray’s greatness, its origins in a culture spanning over 500 years, and its status as a sports club born from this culture, necessitate our commitment to upholding these missions. Therefore, the contract we will sign today is extremely valuable. Its value stems from investing in the foundation.”
Özhan Olcay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pekintaş Group, said that in the coming years Galatasaray Academy will produce Osimhens and Icardis.
“We are here today to sponsor and support Galatasaray’s youth teams, which train athletes for the senior team and the national team across 19 different age groups… we will do whatever is necessary to fulfill this duty to the best of our ability.
“We have no doubt, no hesitation, that many athletes, from U14 to U19, will raise many more Osimhens and Icardis at the football schools to be established at Galatasaray’s Kemerburgaz campus in the new Kemerburgaz district. I also want to emphasize the importance of youth academy and the sustainable future of Galatasaray Club, a football school, a football factory. As Pekintaş Holding, which has been operating for nearly 70 years, we aspire to continue producing, valuing our country, upholding these values, contributing to society, and supporting sports.” Olcay concluded.
