Udinese Yet To Reach Agreement With Galatasaray For Zaniolo
Nicolo Zaniolo is still a top target for Udinese, reports from Italy claim, although there is still some difference in what the Serie A side are prepared to offer and what the Turkish club want for the Italian.
According to what has been reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X and Sky Sport in Italy, Udinese wish to sign the 26-year-old to bolster the squad’s attack after the departures of Lorenzo Lucca and Florian Thauvin.
However, ‘significant differences’ in negotiations are stalling the Udine club’s pursuit of the former Roma man. Romano also reports of ‘more clubs’ making contact for Zaniolo.
Could stability suit Zaniolo after successive spells out on loan?
When Zaniolo signed for Galatasaray in February 2023, the €15 million plus bonuses the Turkish club paid set a national transfer record. After shining in his first two seasons as a professional with Roma, injury issues and an eventual loss in form led the Serie A side to part ways with their former golden boy.
However, after initially impressing in his first ten games for the Super Lig giants, Galatasaray would end up sending the Italian out on loan three times in the space of two years. Zaniolo spent one season in the Premier League with Aston Villa to mild success, playing 39 times in all competitions. Last season, the Italian spent the first half of the season on loan with Atalanta, and the second with Fiorentina.
