Bayern Ready To “Offer More” For Arsenal’s Top Scorer

Leandro Trossard

Bayern Munich are focusing on securing a deal for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, but they are keeping all options open.

The German champions have been reportedly linked with a move for Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard this summer, and he could be a good option for the club if they fail to sign Diaz.

The Belgium international joined the Gunners in the January window of 2023 from Brighton & Hove Albion and has established himself as a regular first-team player under Mikel Arteta.

Bayern have been linked with a move for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli as well, but Trossard has emerged as a “new idea” for them.

Arsenal want Trossard to sign a new contract extension at the Emirates, but Bayern can offer him a better deal.

The former Genk winger is currently managed by German agent Dirk Hebel, who is also the agent of Marco Reus.

Christian Falk has told CFBayern that Trossard is “definitely” on Bayern’s list. The Bavarian club have made contact with the player’s camp, and they can “offer more”.

The Bild journalist said: “Leandro Trossard is a new idea. Gabriel Martinelli has been on the list for longer.

“Bayern had contact with the Arsenal winger’s management, but in the meantime, the club also got in touch with Trossard’s management. This is because he has had a new agent from Germany since July.

“His name is Dirk Hebel – he’s the agent of Marco Reus. Reus, at the time, played for Gladbach when Max Eberl was the sporting director, and was sold to Dortmund. It was a big transfer for Gladbach, with BVB activating a €17.5m [£15.1m] release clause.

“I heard there was also contact with the management again because of this player. So he is definitely on the list, like Martinelli, and I know that Arsenal want to give him a new contract. But I think Bayern Munich can offer more.”

Trossard could be a smart signing for Bayern Munich
Bayern badly need to bolster their wide areas this summer following the departures of Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller and Mathys Tel.

The Bundesliga champions have been further rocked by the horrific injury to Jamal Musiala, who is set to miss upto four months at least.

Trossard, who scored 28 goals in 124 games in all competitions for Arsenal, can play in multiple positions and would come at a relatively cheaper price.

Bayern are also interested in Xavi Simons, but Trossard could be a handy signing for them if they fail to land Diaz.

Bilic returns to the national team after more than a decade away, ending a two-year absence from management as he begins a second spell in charge of his country. ## Bilic begins a second spell with Croatia The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) announced Bilic’s appointment after the Executive Committee unanimously approved the recommendation of federation president Marijan Kustic. Bilic previously managed Croatia between 2006 and 2012, guiding the national team through two European Championships before embarking on a successful club coaching career that included spells with West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion, Besiktas and Al-Ittihad. The federation believes his experience and deep understanding of Croatian football make him the ideal candidate to lead the next generation. ## Huge task replacing Zlatko Dalic Bilic succeeds one of the most successful managers in Croatia’s history. Dalic stepped down after the 2026 World Cup, bringing an end to a remarkable tenure that included a World Cup final, a World Cup semi-final and several memorable tournament campaigns. Federation president Marijan Kustic acknowledged the size of the challenge but expressed complete confidence in Bilic. > “I would like to once again thank Zlatko for the exceptional results he achieved during his tenure. It is not easy to follow in his footsteps, but we are convinced Slaven is the right person for this role.” Kustic added that Bilic’s international pedigree and extensive coaching experience were decisive factors behind the appointment. ## Bilic honoured to return Bilic described his return as the greatest honour of his coaching career and admitted he understands the expectations that come with leading one of international football’s most consistent tournament teams. > “I would like to thank President Kustic and the Federation’s leadership for the confidence they have shown in allowing me to lead the Croatian national team once again — the greatest honour for any Croatian coach.” The 57-year-old also praised the standards established under Dalic while insisting he is ready for the responsibility. > “I am fully aware of the high expectations that follow such a remarkable period under Zlatko Dalic, but anyone who takes charge of Croatia must be prepared for that because we are a football nation that lives and breathes its national team.” ## A new chapter begins Bilic now faces the task of building on Dalic’s legacy while preparing Croatia for the next international cycle. With a blend of experienced stars and emerging young talent at his disposal, Croatia will hope their returning manager can guide them to another successful era on the international stage.
