Inter Successfully Fend Off Galatasaray Interest In Calhanoglu

Reports on Wednesday evening indicate that Hakan Calhanoglu is set to stay on with Inter, who have successfully fended off interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Reports Calhanoglu set to stay with Inter
Galatasaray had been exploring a move to bring the 31-year-old Turkey international back to his homeland after an eight-year spell in San Siro, with four seasons at both Milan and Inter.

Representatives from Galatasaray have been in Italy this week to discuss potential deals for both Calhanoglu and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan in Istanbul.

However, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, after a meeting between the Nerazzurri and Galatasaray on Wednesday, it has become clear that there are no conditions in place for Calhanoglu to move between the two clubs as things stand.

Reports earlier in the week claimed that Inter were standing firm with their valuation of €30m. Reports on Tuesday suggested that if Galatasaray were not able to offer a €30m fee, then Calhanoglu would not be sold.

Inter had also made it clear that they wanted a swift resolution to the matter, and that the player had until the end of the month to make a decision if he were to leave.

Di Marzio reports that Galatasaray’s pursuit is now considered over, and that Calhanoglu is set to remain an Inter player for the 2025-26 season as things stand.
