Sesko’s “Hint” Fuels Arsenal Transfer Belief
Arsenal fans believe Benjamin Sesko has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will be the Gunners’ new striker signing this summer.
Standard Sport understands that Arsenal are in talks over deals for both RB Leipzig striker Sesko and Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres.
Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta is leading talks with both camps but only one will be signed to fill the clear gap in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The club are long-term admirers of Sesko and tried to sign him a year ago, but he decided to sign a new contract with Leipzig.
Arsenal have returned for the 22-year-old, though, and talks have taken place with Leipzig.
The German club are willing to sanction a sale this summer, however they want a fee in the region of £70m.
There appears to have been little progress in talks this week but Sesko has started following Arsenal on Instagram.
Other fans quickly pointed out that Sesko also following Manchester City and Real Madrid on the social media platform, but journalist Fabrizio Romano pointed out the Gunners connection on Wednesday.
It remains to be seen if Sesko has won the race to join Arsenal, but some Gunners fans are taking it as a positive sign.
It was reported earlier in June that Arsenal offered €55m plus €10m in add-ons earlier this month for Gyokere, and are not thought to be interested in improving on that offer despite the Sporting striker reportedly informing his inner circle that Arsenal was his desired destination.
