Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lucas Hradecky has defended Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface, saying he shouldn’t be blamed for almost joining Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
The Saudi club had negotiated with Bayer Leverkusen, valuing Boniface at €50 million, but the deal ultimately collapsed.
Hradecky, speaking to tag 24, acknowledged the temptation of such a lucrative offer. “It was a lot of money,” he said, noting that Boniface had not earned as much in his career.
The Finland goalkeeper added, “It’s remarkable how directly he came. That’s the best medicine you can give the club and yourself. He has the respect of all of us.”
