Pastor Adeboye Launches Dove Football Club
The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Saturday at the expansive grounds of the church, launched Dove Football Club, which is one of the several sporting initiatives of its sports department.
While unveiling the logo of the newly established club, Pastor Adeboye, prayed for the success of the club, as he prophesied that in the near future, the club shall become a globally recognised brand.
He went ahead to admonish the players, technical crew and officials of the club, to get closer to God and be prayerful, even as they work hard to achieve their goals. Adding that it is a fact that battle is not always for the swiftest, but for those favoured by God.
Speaking with the press after the launch, the Chairman of Dove football club, Prince Dapo Ajibade, remarked that the formation of the club is another way, religious bodies can use sports to positively engage the restive teeming youths and help them channel their unbridled energy and vibes for the betterment of the nation.
Ajibade said, “It is important to take back our youths to God, leveraging on their passion. Dove FC, is aimed at positively engaging the youths and of course, creating jobs, which is one of the present challenges facing this nation,” Ajibade, a former Executive Chairman of Sunshine Stars and Ondo State Football Agency, stated.
Ajibade went ahead to thank the General Overseer of RCCG, Adeboye, for his spiritual and fatherly roles and support in this new drive to help give life to the aspirations of the hapless, but talented youths, through football.
