Xavi Hernandez is reportedly a keen admirer of Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who will be open to joining Barcelona.
According to Jose Alvarez on El Chiringuito TV, Joshua Kimmich is the subject of interest from Barcelona. Xavi Hernandez is a keen admirer of the 28-year-old midfield powerhouse. And the Bayern Munich man is open to joining Barcelona and playing under the former Spanish international.
Joshua Kimmich has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world since joining Bayern Munich in July 2015. The German international started as a right-back while showing the ability to play as a midfielder. And he has proven to be Philipp Lahm’s heir at the Allianz Arena, establishing himself as a mainstay in the middle of the park in the last few years.
The 28-year-old is one of the leaders at Bayern Munich and has stepped up considerably this past year. He has turned out over 350 times thus far for Die Roten, chipping in with 40 goals and 96 assists. Meanwhile, Kimmich’s status of being one of the best players in the world has meant reports have constantly linked him with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The summer transfer window also produced speculation surrounding the player for a few weeks. And Barcelona considered securing Kimmich’s services before turning to Ilkay Gundogan to bolster the midfield unit. The Bayern Munich midfield powerhouse also attracted several Premier League clubs.
