Dwight Yorke Urges Arsenal to Sign Victor Osimhen: ‘He Takes Them to Another Level’

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke believes Arsenal should make a late move for Victor Osimhen, insisting the Nigerian striker could take Mikel Arteta’s side to another level.

The Gunners have already invested heavily in their attack, but Yorke believes adding Osimhen could give Arsenal the extra firepower required to defend their Premier League title.

Yorke backs Osimhen for Arsenal

Yorke, who famously won the historic treble with Manchester United in 1998/99, believes Osimhen would be a nightmare for Premier League defenders.

The former striker particularly praised the Nigerian’s physical attributes, work rate and ability to find the net.

“Victor Osimhen to Arsenal would be huge. That would really cement them as favourites.”

For Yorke, Osimhen doesn’t need to be the most elegant striker on the pitch to be effective.

His combination of pace, height, aerial ability and physical strength makes him an extremely difficult opponent for centre-backs.

“He’s not the most elegant player you will ever see, but you will find him very awkward to play against.”

Why Osimhen could suit the Premier League

Osimhen’s profile is exactly what Yorke believes Arsenal could benefit from.

The Nigerian is around six feet tall, powerful in the air, capable of stretching defensive lines and willing to work hard without the ball.

Those qualities could give Arsenal another dimension in attack.

Instead of relying solely on intricate passing combinations, Arsenal could have the option of playing directly into Osimhen and allowing him to use his pace and physicality against defenders.

But Arsenal face a major problem

The biggest obstacle isn’t whether Osimhen would improve Arsenal.

It’s whether Galatasaray will actually sell him.

The Turkish club have maintained a strong stance over their star striker, despite reports surrounding a potential £65 million release clause.

Earlier in the transfer window, Galatasaray were reportedly demanding well over £100 million for the Nigerian.

Arsenal’s summer recruitment has also focused heavily on other attacking targets, including their reported pursuit of Julián Álvarez.

That makes a late move for Osimhen extremely difficult.

Could Arsenal regret passing on him?

Osimhen has continued to produce goals for Galatasaray, and his performances have kept his name firmly among Europe’s elite strikers.

For Yorke, the equation is simple.

If Arsenal can somehow get Osimhen through the door, he could be the difference between being Premier League contenders and being favourites.

Whether the Gunners are willing — or able — to make that move remains the big question.
