Lamine Yamal Makes Bold Robert Lewandowski Demand Amid Haaland & Kane Transfer Rumours
Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has reportedly made his stance clear to the club hierarchy — Robert Lewandowski must stay.
Despite swirling reports linking Barça with ambitious moves for Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, Yamal believes that the experienced Polish striker remains crucial to both the team’s success and his personal development.
Lewandowski’s Influence At Barcelona
At 37, Lewandowski is no longer a guaranteed starter under Xavi, with Ferran Torres often preferred in the central role. Still, the veteran striker has proven he’s far from finished — recently bagging a hat-trick in the 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo and finishing last season with a remarkable 42 goals across all competitions.
According to reports from El Nacional, Yamal has grown both on and off the field alongside Lewandowski. The youngster sees him as a mentor and tactical shield, benefiting from the attention defenders give to the prolific No. 9.
How Lewandowski Helps Yamal Shine
Lewandowski’s presence forces opposition defenders to stay compact and focused, creating more space for Yamal on the flanks. The teenage winger reportedly feels that having Lewandowski in front of him helps him receive more quality passes and greater attacking freedom.
The bond between the two players has reportedly “strengthened both on and off the field,” with Yamal urging Barcelona management to extend Lewandowski’s deal beyond 2027. The young forward believes that there’s “no one better suited to continue fostering his development” than the Polish veteran.
Lewandowski Still Hungry For More
Despite the whispers about replacements, Lewandowski insists he still has more to give. Speaking to ESPN, he said:
“It doesn’t matter how many titles you have already won. The most important thing is how many titles you still want to win. I love football, I love this team, I love this club. I still feel physically very well.”
Lewandowski added that his hunger remains high, saying he’s “proud to be 37” but still believes he can improve and help Barcelona in the seasons ahead.
Haaland & Kane Links Persist
Meanwhile, Barça continue to be linked with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, both viewed as potential long-term successors to Lewandowski.
Haaland is contracted to City until 2034, making any move extremely expensive, while Kane’s exit clause at Bayern Munich, reportedly set at £57 million ($75m) from 2026, has also caught Barcelona’s eye.
However, if Yamal’s influence holds any weight inside the Camp Nou boardroom, fans might see Lewandowski remain in Blaugrana colours a little longer — ensuring that Barcelona’s young star continues learning under one of football’s greatest finishers.
