Weightlifting: Lagos “Golden Girl” Adijat Olarinoye Eyes Another Gold In Riyadh
Lagos State “discovered “weightlifter and Commonwealth Games champion, Adijat Olarinoye Adenike, is set to add another medal to her shelf at the ongoing International Weightlifting Federation Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Sports Marketing International reports that Olarinoye will be jostling for another gold medal in Riyadh, having had a successful outing at the 2023 Senior Africa Weightlifting Championship in Tunisia.
Adijat will compete in the 59 kg women’s category of the iron-pomping world championship today. She is not a minnow, owing to her fast-rising growth and records in weightlifting.
She grabbed the first gold medal for Nigeria in the last Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, London.
