Roma Ready To Accept City’s Terms For Echeverri Loan
Reports in Italy claim that Roma are now ready to accept Manchester City’s terms in negotiations over a loan deal for 19-year-old talent Claudio Echeverri, after seeing a proposal that included an option to buy turned down by Pep Guardiola’s side last week.
Roma are actively seeking new attacking additions before the close of the summer transfer window, with reports claiming that head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has been promised as many as three more new signings to complete his squad.
The Giallorossi have been attempting to strike a deal with Man City for Echeverri, who was handed his Citizens debut as a substitute during the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace in May.
Roma prepared to offer straight loan deal for Man City’s Echeverri
Roma have had a bid turned down by City, which had included a loan deal with an option to buy and a buy-back clause in favour of the Premier League side.
City, however, are not willing to let Echeverri go on a permanent basis, and have instead been looking at sending him out on a straight loan to one of their partner clubs, likely Girona in LaLiga.
However, according to reports from Calciomercato.com, Roma are now willing to offer Man City a straight loan deal for Echeverri, with no type of buy option included.
That would effectively be the same terms as a loan deal to Girona, only with the added bonus of Europa League football at the Stadio Olimpico, while Girona will not compete in any UEFA competition this season.
The Giallorossi still have other targets in mind, though, and are also thought to be exploring a potential permanent deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva.
