PSG confirm two-star badge for 2026-27

Fans first spotted the updated PSG shirts during pre-season matches against Mallorca and Manchester United.

The two stars were also visible when Luis Enrique’s side lifted the Trophée des Champions against Lens before appearing in their opening Ligue 1 fixtures against Rennes, Lille and Monaco.

PSG have now confirmed that the stars will remain on the shirts throughout the 2026-27 campaign.

The club told local media outlet ICI Paris Île-de-France that the decision was made to celebrate their consecutive Champions League titles.

A PSG representative explained that the stars were introduced to mark the club’s “Back 2 Back” achievement.

The two-star design will be used across all competitions this season, including domestic cup matches and European fixtures.

Two stars are not a permanent badge change

Despite the new look, PSG have made it clear that the two stars do not form part of a permanent redesign of the club crest.

Instead, they are a special addition to the shirt for the 2026-27 season, allowing the club to celebrate its recent European success.

Why PSG previously wore only one star

After beating Inter Milan 5-0 in the 2025 Champions League final in Munich, PSG introduced a single star to celebrate their European title.

PSG eventually adopted a compromise.

During the 2025-26 campaign, the single star was primarily used for European fixtures and other major international competitions, including the Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

The club did not use the star during domestic Ligue 1 matches.

That policy has now changed.

With PSG having secured consecutive Champions League titles, the club has opted for a more prominent celebration by displaying two stars across all competitions.

The move gives PSG’s 2026-27 shirts a distinctive look while underlining the club’s emergence as a dominant force in European football.
