Lookman Lauds Belgian Forward In Atalanta’s Win Over Monza
Super Eagles and Atalanta forward, Ademola Olajade Lookman, was full of praise for Belgian forward, Charles De Ketelaere, in his side’s 4-0 victory against Monza yesterday, according to Soccernet.ng.
The 27-year-old attacker has had a tough time in front of goal over the past eight weeks, with his last goal coming in Atalanta’s 4-0 win over Juventus back in March.
Lookman broke his goalscoring drought at the U-Power Stadium in Monza yesterday, in the 47th minute after Charles De Ketelaere had already scored a first-half brace.
While Atalanta are no longer in the title race, Lookman admitted a 4-0 win away from the Gewiss Arena is important for the team after they drew against Lecce last time out.
“Scoring four goals away from home is important. We weren’t happy with the home draw in the last round and we wanted to get back to winning ways,” the CAF 2024 Player of the Year said in quotes revealed by Tutto Mercato.
De Ketelaere’s brace saw him move into 13 goals and 10 assists in 47 games across all competitions for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side. Lookman was full of praise for his teammate after his brilliant display yesterday.
“He’s a quality player, the important thing for him is to keep his spirits up,” the former RB Leipzig attacker concluded.
Atalanta’s forwards have produced good numbers in attack this season. Besides De Ketelaere, Mario Retegui hs scored 27 goals and provided eight assists in 46 games while Ademola Lookman has scored 19 goals and provided six assists in 38 games for La Dea.
