Justin Bieber joins Shakira, Madonna & BTS for historic 2026 World Cup final half-time show

Justin Bieber has officially been added to the star-studded lineup for the first-ever FIFA World Cup final half-time show, joining global music icons Shakira, Madonna and BTS for what promises to be one of the biggest entertainment events in sporting history.

Bieber confirmed for historic World Cup performance

FIFA and Global Citizen have announced that Bieber will perform at the inaugural World Cup final half-time show on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium.

The Canadian superstar joins an already glittering lineup featuring pop legends Madonna and Shakira, alongside K-pop supergroup BTS. The production is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who is serving as the international curator for the event.

With Bieber’s inclusion, the show is expected to attract one of the largest global television audiences ever recorded.

Show aims to support global education

The event is more than just a musical celebration, with FIFA and Global Citizen using the platform to promote the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The initiative seeks to raise $100 million to improve access to education and football opportunities for children worldwide.

Speaking after his announcement, Bieber said:

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can.”

“I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”

Burna Boy among additional performers

The entertainment lineup extends well beyond the headline acts.

Nigerian superstar Burna Boy will represent Africa during the show, while acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus are also set to perform.

Fans can also expect appearances from The Muppets, including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, adding a unique family-friendly element to the historic occasion.

Burna Boy proud to represent Africa

Burna Boy described his selection as both an honour and a responsibility.

“The FIFA World Cup is one of the few moments that truly brings the entire world together.”

“To represent Africa on the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show is a privilege and a responsibility that I don’t take lightly.”

“I’m honoured to be part of a performance that not only celebrates football and culture, but also helps create greater opportunities for children through education around the world.”

Infantino highlights education mission

FIFA president Gianni Infantino believes the event represents much more than football and entertainment.

“When it comes to what the world needs, there is nothing more important than education.”

“We are proud to have Justin Bieber joining Madonna, Shakira and BTS to co-headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and our mission to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world.”

The World Cup final is already expected to be one of the biggest sporting events ever staged, and the addition of a blockbuster half-time show featuring some of the world’s biggest music stars is set to make the occasion even more memorable.
