Morgan Rogers responds to Arsenal transfer links and insists he can thrive alongside Jude Bellingham for England

Morgan Rogers addresses Arsenal interest and explains why he can partner Jude Bellingham for England

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers has broken his silence on growing transfer speculation linking him with a summer move to Arsenal while also dismissing suggestions that he and Jude Bellingham cannot play together for England.

The 23-year-old is currently focused on the 2026 World Cup, but reports continue to suggest Arsenal are preparing a major bid after his outstanding campaign with Villa.

Rogers unfazed by transfer speculation

After establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s brightest attacking talents, Rogers has become one of the most sought-after players in English football.

Arsenal are reportedly keen to strengthen their squad with another versatile attacking midfielder, and Rogers is believed to be high on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist.

Speaking about the transfer rumours, the England international admitted that speculation naturally attracts attention but insisted he has learned how to deal with it.

“I think the first time it happened it was difficult,” Rogers explained on The Rest Is Football. “You suddenly realise people are talking about you and showing interest, and it feels a little strange.

“But as you get older and gain more experience, you understand that most of it is just noise. Of course you hear it, but you try to focus on your football and use it as motivation.”

Bellingham partnership not a problem

One of the biggest talking points surrounding England’s World Cup squad has been whether Rogers and Bellingham can fit into the same starting lineup.

With both players naturally operating in advanced midfield positions, some pundits have suggested Thomas Tuchel may eventually have to choose between them.

Rogers, however, sees no reason why the pair cannot flourish together.

“I definitely think we can play together,” he said. “I’d love to play alongside him. You always want to play with the best players in your country, and Jude is right at the top of that list.

“He’s someone I’ve wanted to play with for a long time, and that feeling hasn’t changed.”

Arsenal continue search for attacking reinforcements

While Rogers remains focused on international duty, Arsenal’s interest is expected to continue throughout the transfer window.

The Villa star enjoyed a sensational season, contributing 14 goals and 12 assists across all competitions and helping his side secure European success.

However, Villa are under no pressure to sell. Rogers is under contract until 2031, placing the Midlands club in a strong negotiating position should Arsenal decide to make a formal approach.

Reports suggest the Gunners could be forced to pay more than £80 million if they want to persuade Villa to part with one of their most valuable assets.

For now, though, Rogers’ full attention remains on England’s World Cup campaign, where he hopes to prove that he and Bellingham can become one of the tournament’s most exciting partnerships.
