Liverpool Reveal Emotional Diogo Jota And Andre Silva Memorial Outside Anfield

Liverpool Football Club have unveiled touching first-look images of a permanent memorial dedicated to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva — a tribute designed to ensure the brothers are forever remembered at Anfield.

The emotional installation, titled Forever 20, will be placed on 97 Avenue outside the Main Stand, the very location where thousands of grieving supporters gathered to leave flowers, scarves, shirts, and heartfelt messages following the tragic accident that claimed the lives of both brothers last year.

And the design is nothing short of powerful.

A Tribute Built From Love And Memory

At the heart of the memorial is a flowing heart-shaped sculpture inspired by Diogo Jota’s iconic goal celebration — a moment Liverpool fans saw countless times during his unforgettable years at the club.

But the tribute goes even deeper.

From different viewing angles, the sculpture subtly reveals the numbers 20 and 30 — the shirt numbers worn by Jota and Andre Silva during their football careers.

It’s a symbolic reminder that the brothers will forever remain connected in football history and in the hearts of supporters.

Liverpool Fans Become Part Of The Memorial

In one of the most moving aspects of the project, Liverpool confirmed that tributes left by fans after the tragedy have been physically incorporated into the structure itself.

Scarves, banners, flowers, and messages left outside Anfield were recycled and embedded into the memorial’s Granby Rock-faced stone plinth, creating a permanent connection between supporters and the tribute.

It transforms the memorial from simply a sculpture into something deeply personal — built not only by the club, but by the emotions of the Liverpool community itself.

Personal Touches Celebrate Jota Beyond Football

Liverpool also ensured the memorial reflects who Diogo Jota was away from football.

Among the subtle details included in the design is a video game controller, honouring Jota’s well-known passion for gaming and eSports. The Portuguese star was famously active in the gaming world and regularly connected with fans through that shared interest.

It’s a beautiful touch that captures his personality beyond goals and trophies.

The Kop’s Song Will Live Forever

Another emotional detail is the inclusion of lyrics from Jota’s famous Anfield chant, which remains a powerful part of Liverpool matchdays.

Even now, supporters continue singing the song during the 20th minute of home games as a tribute to the beloved forward who delivered so many unforgettable moments in red.

The memorial ensures that connection between player and supporters will never fade.

More Than A Monument

Liverpool have described the area as a future place of quiet reflection — somewhere fans from around the world can visit to remember “the lad from Portugal” and his brother.

While the club has not yet confirmed an official unveiling date, the images alone have already sparked emotional reactions across the football community.

Because some players leave more than memories behind.

They leave part of themselves woven forever into the soul of a football club.
