Samuel Chukwueze Nominated For Fulham Goal Of The Month Award

Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze could be set to pick up his first individual honour since joining Fulham on loan from AC Milan.

The Super Eagles winger has been shortlisted for Fulham’s Goal of the Month award for January 2026, following his brilliant strike against Brighton & Hove Albion at Craven Cottage.

Chukwueze’s Brighton Goal Earns Recognition

Chukwueze’s goal, which came in the 72nd minute of Fulham’s thrilling 2-1 comeback victory, has been included in a 13-goal shortlist for the club’s monthly prize.

The strike marked his return to club football after representing Nigeria at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations, and it proved decisive in turning the game on its head.

Timing his run perfectly, Chukwueze latched onto a superb long pass from defender Joachim Andersen, who lofted the ball over Brighton’s defensive line. The winger showed excellent composure, opening his body and guiding a precise finish into the far corner to restore parity for Fulham.

Strong Competition For The Award

The Nigerian faces stiff competition for the honour, with Harry Wilson emerging as a major contender after receiving four separate nominations. Other players in the running include Tom Cairney, Jade Bradley, Harrison Reed, Aaron Loupalo-Bi, Kevin, and Farhaan Ali Wahid.

Despite the competition, Chukwueze’s goal stands out for its technical quality, movement, and match-changing impact.

Making His Mark At Fulham

Since arriving on a deadline-day loan from AC Milan, Chukwueze has quickly become an important attacking option for the Cottagers. In just 11 Premier League appearances, the winger has contributed seven goals and assists, underlining his influence in Marco Silva’s side.

His pace, direct running, and eye for goal have added a new dimension to Fulham’s attack, making him a fan favourite in a short space of time.

Marco Silva Addresses Chukwueze’s Future

Fulham manager Marco Silva recently spoke about his squad depth following the arrival of winger Oscar Bobb, easing concerns over Chukwueze’s role.

“I’m very pleased, because I think it’s a very, very good move from us,” Silva said, as reported by the BBC.
“Since Adama left, or was coming close to leaving, I had some players in mind as targets, and Oscar was one of them for sure.”

While Bobb’s signing adds competition, Chukwueze’s form suggests he will remain a key figure as Fulham push forward in the second half of the season.

For now, the Nigerian winger will be hoping his stunning strike does enough to secure his first Fulham award — another milestone in an already impressive loan spell.
