Akinsanmiro Cleared For AFCON — Super Eagles Get Midfield Boost
The Super Eagles just got some exciting news, and fans will definitely love this one. Rising Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has officially been cleared to join the national team for AFCON 2025, ending days of uncertainty around his availability.
Pisa SC coach Alberto Gilardino confirmed the decision ahead of their Serie A clash with Lecce, stating that the youngster will depart for national duty immediately after the match.
“Akinsanmiro? After the Lecce match, he will be unavailable for several matches,” Gilardino said.
With that, all the speculation is over — he’s coming home to represent Nigeria.
A Major Moment For A Rising Star
Akinsanmiro was included in Nigeria’s 54-man provisional squad announced last week, marking his first senior national team call-up. At just 21, the Inter Milan loanee has been making waves in Italy, and his consistency for Pisa has not gone unnoticed by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.
