Akinsanmiro Cleared For AFCON — Super Eagles Get Midfield Boost
The Super Eagles just got some exciting news, and fans will definitely love this one. Rising Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has officially been cleared to join the national team for AFCON 2025, ending days of uncertainty around his availability.
Pisa SC coach Alberto Gilardino confirmed the decision ahead of their Serie A clash with Lecce, stating that the youngster will depart for national duty immediately after the match.
“Akinsanmiro? After the Lecce match, he will be unavailable for several matches,” Gilardino said.
With that, all the speculation is over — he’s coming home to represent Nigeria.
A Major Moment For A Rising Star
Akinsanmiro was included in Nigeria’s 54-man provisional squad announced last week, marking his first senior national team call-up. At just 21, the Inter Milan loanee has been making waves in Italy, and his consistency for Pisa has not gone unnoticed by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.
From Beyond Limits Academy to European football, and now to the senior national team — it’s been a remarkable rise.
What’s Next?
The Super Eagles’ AFCON training camp kicks off on Monday, December 15, and Akinsanmiro will be joining the squad to battle for a spot on the final tournament roster.
With his energy, creativity, and confidence in midfield, his inclusion is definitely a boost for Nigeria as preparations intensify.
AFCON 2025 is shaping up nicely — and Akinsanmiro is ready for the challenge.
