Stanley Nwabali Doubtful For AFCON As Eric Chelle Faces Tough Goalkeeping Decision

The Super Eagles have been dealt another heavy blow ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, as first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is now a major doubt for the tournament. This development puts head coach Eric Chelle under pressure to make one of the toughest squad decisions before the continental competition kicks off.

Nwabali, who was widely praised for his commanding performances at the last AFCON, has seen public trust in his consistency fade in recent months. According to Chippa United head coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi, the 28-year-old is currently battling a hand and ankle injury — issues worsened during the last international break.
