Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly emerged as a prime target for Real Madrid, as the Spanish giants plan a major overhaul of their attack. The move comes amid growing tension between Vinicius Jnr and manager Xabi Alonso, which has stalled contract renewal talks with the Brazilian forward.
Spanish reports indicate that Real Madrid are considering a massive €100m-plus bid for Osimhen, seeing him as the ideal long-term replacement and tactical upgrade for their frontline. The 26-year-old Nigerian has been in electric form at Galatasaray, scoring 9 goals in 12 matches across domestic and Champions League competitions.
Madrid believe Osimhen’s aggressive, instinctive style would not only provide immediate impact but also allow Kylian Mbappé to return to his preferred left-wing position, maximizing the French star’s effectiveness.
Galatasaray, however, are firm on their valuation. Having spent €75m to sign Osimhen from Napoli last summer, the Turkish champions reportedly want at least €140m, leaving Madrid with a significant financial hurdle to clear.
The potential Osimhen move is also fueled by the uncertainty surrounding Vinicius Jnr’s future. Contract talks have collapsed, with the Brazilian reportedly demanding a package closer to €30m per year, compared to Madrid’s offer of €20m net annually.
Tensions escalated after El Clásico, when Vinicius walked down the tunnel following a substitution, publicly expressing frustration with the coach—though notably omitting Alonso’s name in his apology. Sources close to the club say the relationship remains strained.
With Vinicius’s renewal uncertain and internal disputes threatening stability, Osimhen has become not just a tactical solution, but potentially the long-term successor to a player whose future at Real Madrid is increasingly in doubt.
